Fill in the Blank Friday

Linking up with Lauren @ The Little Things We Do

My current obsession is doing things to my hair (styles, treatments, products, etc.)

(Lots and lots of) chocolate make me happy.

My greatest strength is cleaning. Just leave me alone with a mess and some cleaning products and I will go to work.  Everything has to be neat and in its place or I go crazy, haha.

Shopping is my greatest weakness.

My life is absolutely blessed with love and family.

In high school I was very quiet and kept to myself.

When I'm super tired I can't concentrate on whatever it is I'm trying to do.

Boob Toob Babble: Season Premieres

I have never been one to get excited for new shows starting in the fall.  Either they never looked interesting enough to me or I didn't have the time to watch them.  Well, this season is totally different!  I was so excited for so many shows to start this past week.

Boob Tube Babble

MONDAY NIGHT
How I Met Your Mother  Sadly, I only just started consistently watching this show a few months ago.  And I say sadly because this show is hilariously great!  Now I haven't seen every episode yet, but I've seen enough to know what's going on...so I wasn't completely lost when the new season started.  The two new episodes that aired Monday night were great and funny, and I'm looking forward to what they have in store with Victoria and Ted, but I'm still anxious for who is wife is going to be!
Airs on CBS @ 8/7c
Two and A Half Men  Ok, I've hated my cable provider from the beginning, but now I really do hate them!  I had all the Monday night shows set up to record, but for some reason they didn't want me watching Two and A Half Men.  It was set up to record, but come Monday night, it isn't lit up red like the other shows.  So I click on it again to record and it kept saying there was a recording error or something like that.  Ugh!  I finally thought I figured it out..phew.  But, amazing boyfriend and I come home after his hockey game, and guess what?  It didn't record!  So I never got to see the most talked about episode ever and there's no other airing of it that I can find.  I was pissed!  Hopefully I can find it online and watch it, or just hear bits and pieces from other people...
Airs on CBS @ 9/8c

2 Broke Girls  I absolutely love this show!  I was a little skeptical at first when seeing the previews, but it was so funny!  I thought Kat Dennings was hilarious in 40 Year Old Virgin and she was even funnier in this show.  And Beth Behrs plays a great (not so) rich blonde girl who's never worked a day in her life.  I cannot wait for next weeks episode!
Airs on CBS @ 8:30/7:30c

TUESDAY NIGHT
New Girl  I love Zooey Deschanel and her character in this show is just so bubbly and fun.  Her roommates are awesome and I love the guy who's always taking off his shirt only to show off his super white stomach, haha.  I really loved this show and I can't wait to watch the rest of the season!
Airs on Fox @ 9/8c

WEDNESDAY NIGHT
The X Factor  Again, I was skeptical with this one because it just seemed like another American Idol, but I love Simon so I had to record it and see what it was all about.  Judge-wise, it pretty much is like American Idol, with Simon and Paula, and then instead of Randy, another black guy.  I do kind of like how the auditions are in front of an audience, instead of just the judges, and how they are able to have music during the audition.  I'm just not sure I'm into the whole thing yet.  So we'll see how it goes the next few weeks.
Airs on KTTV @ 8/7c

THURSDAY NIGHT
Whitney  This was the first show that caught my eye that had to be recorded.  The previews they had for it looked hilarious.  It totally portrayed what some couples go through and it was funny.  I've heard things about Whitney Cummings and they said she's pretty hilarious and from the previews she was.  But, when Thursday night came and I watched the episode, I wasn't too thrilled.  It was funny, but not as funny as I thought it was going to be.  So I'm hoping that it will get better from here on out.
Airs on NBC @ 9:30/8:30c

Fill in the Blank Friday

I'm so glad it's finally Friday!!
And it's that time again for...
with the beautiful Lauren @ The Little Things We Do

The best thing I did all week was getting to sleep in this morning.

Sales and clearances make me super happy.
(read about my latest find HERE)

Pets are part of the family.

Living with the love of my life and being closer with my family is the best thing about my life.

With the cooler weather I am looking forward to curling up on the couch with my man underneath tons of blankets, drinking hot chocolate, and watching movies.

Something that's on my "wish list" right now is a new purse, the Naked palette by Urban Decay, and (like Lauren) some more leggings and sweats...ooh and some new shoes!

This weekend I am going to celebrate our one year anniversary with amazing boyfriend!! I'm so excited!!

Clearances Galore!

Sunday is amazing boyfriend and my one year anniversary and I hadn't gotten him anything yet, so last night I headed over to the good ole' Bed Bath and Beyond.  I love this place, but I hate how expensive everything is.  Well, I guess last night was the best time to go, because everywhere I looked there were yellow signs marked clearance.  A little part inside of me squealed like a little child getting a pony for christmas!  There were picture frames marked down to almost half price, candles on sale, accent pillows marked down, art accents for the wall half off, and three or four stands in the back that were all clearance mark downs.  I was in heaven!

Now the best part about this whole adventure is that buried deep behind some marked down Mite-Away boxes was, wait for it... a half priced...out of the box...CHI Air Flat Iron!!  I thought there had to be a catch, so I looked on the clearance sticker to see why it was marked down, because this sounded to good to be true.  And low and behold, it was only marked down because it was out of the box.
I have been wanting to get a new straightener for a long time because I've had my current one for about five years and now when I use it, the temperature drops, so I have to set it down every minute or so to heat back up.  I wanted to buy a really nice one, but with money being so tight lately, I've had to look at the Remington flat irons sold at Target for like 30 bucks.  Even though, from other bloggers reviews, I've been really wanting to get a CHI flat iron, but they are just so expensive (starting at $99 and go up).  So when I found this jackpot hidden on the clearance shelves, I was ecstatic!  And had to get it!

I also got a tall live laugh love frame that holds 3 photos for only $7!  I wanted to buy a few more things that were marked down awesomely low, but with the flat iron being $50, I couldn't spend any more money, especially after buying amazing boyfriend's gift, too.
There were a ton of steals, I wish I could of gotten more!  Damn not having won the lottery yet!  Haha.

Do you love Bed Bath and Beyond?
Have you gotten any great deals?

Blog Change Up

I take after Super Mom, by always having to re-design/re-organize everything every few months.  It's a blessing and a curse.  I grew up having our house changed around about ever six months or so.  She would either move around furniture, re-organize cabinets/shelves, or re-paint something.  And ever since I was about 14 or 15, I was doing the same exact thing.  So, if you haven't noticed already, my blog has a new look, again, and this time, a new name.

I chose, Just Sarah, because it's just me, writing to you (my cute little followers), about my day to day life and how I deal with it.  Including fashion/beauty tips, family stuff, living with amazing boyfriend, and finding great deals.  Living, laughing, and loving life is still part of my blog because every day, I have to remember to live, laugh, and love.  I've been through a lot so far in my 20-something years of life, and it's taken a lot of learning to finally realize that my life is worth cherishing.  And I have God, family/friends, and amazing boyfriend to thank for that.

I hope you all like my new changes!
Hopefully this will be it for a long time.

Let me know what you think :)

Miracle in a Bottle!

I've heard here and there from different people and from things I've read, that it's good to change up your shampoo and conditioner every few months and/or use Head & Shoulders once every month.  I didn't see what the big deal was to do that, so I never thought much of it, until... my hair was looking so dry and frizzy and just not healthy.

So, first I gave it a little trim to cut off all the split ends, since I haven't cut it I don't know how long.  Then I figured, what the heck, I'll give Head & Shoulders a try and see what the big deal is.  Amazing Boyfriend has some that he uses, so I used that, since it was already in the shower.  And, O-M-G!!  My hair was brought back to life!  It was a miracle!  My hair was silky soft and shiny, and actually had a bounce to it.  I was in love!

I used it for two days and then switched back to the new shampoo and conditioner I got a few weeks ago.
pretty, huh?
I think so.

Do you use Head & Shoulders?
Have any secret hair products that you use?

Fill in the Blank Friday

You should always take time to live, laugh, and love.

Yummy foods make(s) the world a happier place to be.

I can hardly wait for my one year anniversary with amazing boyfriend.

Friday is my favorite day of the week.

Something totally dumb and ridiculous that I love is watching kid shows like iCarly and Victorious.

If I could, I would not go to school anymore.

I rather like chocolate chips in my pancakes!

What is Going on with SoCal?

I woke up jumped out of bed this morning because from outside came this huge crashing-like noise that seemed to envelop the entire earth.  I hopped over my bed towards the sliding glass door in my bedroom, peeled open my eyes, and pulled away the blinds to take a peak outside.

Now let me rewind a little bit for you... for about the last week and a half, southern California has been going through a heat streak with temperatures starting at 90 degrees in the morning and going on up to over 100+ degrees in the afternoons!  And for goodness sake, it's September!

Ok, now back to this morning... I look outside and the sky is dark, rain is pouring down like it has something against the ground, and big growls of thunder are screaming from the skies every two minutes.  It's a hot, rainy mess!  What is going on here?  It's so scary looking sounding, that I don't even want to go outside today!  I mean, I'm glad that the hot streak is over and fall is finally here, but is this how it had to come?  I guess fall was angry with summer and they had to bring in the new season with a bang...literally!  I even saw a few posts on facebook that it's hailing in some areas of SoCal!  And just the other day, there was a huge blackout, that you can read about over here.

Well, as I'm writing this, it seems like things have calmed down a bit.  The rain has slowed down and the thunder growls have been getting further apart.  I hope that this was the last bit of anger from fall, at least for today, because I have a birthday dinner to go to tonight, and I really don't want to be driving in this weather.

I hope everyone is having a much sunnier day and you enjoy it much more than I will.
If you didn't notice, I'm not a huge fan of the rain...I like my sun :)

Have you had any weather experiences like this where you live?

I Love My Life-Draining Job

I have to say, that this new nanny job I took on a few weeks ago, has been kicking my butt.  Getting used to waking up at 6:45am every morning, taking care of three beautiful girls, and not getting off until almost 6pm has taken a lot an extreme amount out of me and I seem to be so tired all the time.

The cute little girls I watch are pretty easy to take care of, but they need to be constantly entertained, as of course all little kids do.  So that means many trips to the park, the lake to feed the ducks, Pretend City, crafts, and plenty of other things.  Along with watching the girls and taking them places, I also have to do the laundry, wash the dishes, and keep the house tidied.  I honestly don't mind doing these extra things because quite frankly, I'm a bit of a clean freak, I must admit.  However, I do feel for everything that I do, on top of all my experience, I should be getting paid way more than I am.  So I hope that maybe after 6 months, or so, working with them, I'll get a little raise. (I'll keep my fingers crossed!)

Now about these little girls I watch...they are freaking adorable!  The oldest, let's call her Little Miss Fashionista, is in the first grade and could already be a designer on Project Runway.  She's always wearing the cutest outfits, looking at magazines, and drawing outfits.  Next, is Little Miss Lovable Brat.  Being that she is the middle child, she gets jealous a lot, which leads to either fights or tears.  She's really sweet, but has a bit of an anger problem.  Last but not least, is my favorite, Little Miss Sweet 16.  She's two going on 16. She likes to help and do everything on her own, but also likes to demand things.  She has the cutest little blonde curls and squeaky little voice.  Absolutely adorable!

I only work Monday through Thursday, but it feels like an every day job.  I just wish I had more energy and didn't feel the need to have to sleep and lay on the couch all day Friday, like I did today...yes, I've practically been on the couch all day, in my pajamas, watching tv or reading.  I guess it's nice though to have a three day weekend to regroup and catch up on sleep before I have to go back to my 10 hour work days.  I love my job and the girls, and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Fill in the Blank Friday

IT'S FRIDAY!!
yay :)
So that means it's that time again for...
with beautiful miss Lauren @ The Little Things With Do.

Somewhere someone is working, while I have the day off!

The little girls I nanny is/are my muse.

It would suck if food was no more because, I love food so much!  And I love finding out about new recipes cook, and then of course, eating it!

Not working is/are my favorite thing about today.

Life is kind of like a roller coaster.  There are many ups and downs and sometimes you don't always enjoy the ride, while other times, it's the best ride ever.

If I could have anything I wanted I would want a big beautiful home with a huge porch and backyard on a cul-de-sac in a great neighborhood.

A funny thing happened the other day... (it actually happened to me today) I went to cook some tater tots in my toaster oven, so I put them in and turned the dial to 350 degrees and set it for about 15 minutes, then went back to watch tv.  About ten minutes later, I go to check on them and as I'm walking into the kitchen, I think "huh, why isn't the light on?"  I come to realize that silly me forgot to plug it in!  Dang it!

I'm TOO young to be getting OLD!

First off, happy Labor Day everyone!  I hope you all have had a wonderful day like I've had!

Secondly, have you gone over to Stress Case today?  I did a guest post!  So get your cute little butts over there and check it out!!

Ok, now on to explain what my odd crazy title means.  So as most of you know from my previous posts, money has been super tight lately with my car breaking down.  Well, since money is tight, I couldn't afford to go get my hair done, which I get to reward myself with once every few months, when my roots are just way too noticeable.

Since I do Super Mom's hair for her every month (out of the box) and she used to do mine, I asked her if she wouldn't mind doing mine yesterday after I did hers.  Well, as she was doing it, I hear her gasp.  So of course I start to freak out, like oh my gosh! What's wrong with my hair!?  She says, "You have a gray hair!"  Noooooooooooo!  I'm only 23!  Gray hairs are not in my vocabulary!  This can't be!

"What!?" I exclaim.  She laughs, pulls it out and shows me.  It was gray from the root for about an inch. I was in denial and kept telling her myself that it was just my blonde growing in.  But, sadly, it was indeed a gray hair that had sprouted.  I couldn't believe it.  My first gray hair.  Kill me now.

I hope that this was just a stress gray hair from everything that has been going on the last few weeks, and I don't get any more for a longggg time!
