This Weekend Was [Cuddle] Perfect

~Friday~

I got to sleep in with Amazing Boyfriend, which is just wonderful in itself.  And to make it even better, he got up to make us breakfast!  -- egg burritos with bacon.

I laid in bed, watched some TV, and soaked in the laziness, while he got things ready.

I got up, we ate, and laid on the couch cuddling.

{There is just something about cuddling with your man that brings calmness and relaxation.}

We watched some shows and football games, and around two, he left to grab us some lunch.

After lunch, we cuddled some more, until around five, we both had to leave -- him to go coach his junior high hockey team and me to my massage.

I left before he did, and headed over to Massage Best Friend's house to get a wonderful massage.

Afterwards, I headed to the rink to watch his last game.

We both headed home when the game was done and I got to cooking our dinner --filet mignon with mashed potatoes and cooked veggies.

It was so delicious!  I had been marinating the meat in my special sauce for almost two days prior to cooking it.

After, we enjoyed a huge big bowl of ice cream and bought a movie on OnDemand called Trespass.

I've never heard of it before, but it had Nicholas Cage and Nicole Kidman in it.

The movie was INSANE!  Good, but insane.  I was clenching onto Amazing Boyfriend's hands the whole entire movie.  My stomach hurt quite a bit after.  Those types of movies that can really happen do that to me.

I took two Tums and we headed off to bed.

~Saturday~

I got to sleep in until about 10:30(!), which is so wonderful, since Fridays and Saturdays are my only sleep-in days.

I finally rolled out of bed around 11, brushed my teeth, washed my face, and strolled into the kitchen to warm me up some chocolate chip waffles.

It was freezing in my cute little apartment, so I put on some socks and a sweatshirt and settled down on the couch to watch some of my shows.

It was coming up on noon when I decided I should get off my lazy butt up and get started on my Saturday cleaning before I got too comfy.

I got to my cleaning and was done in about an hour/hour and a half.  I was very proud of myself, except for the fact that during my cleaning I dropped and broke our tooth brush holder, that comes in a set.  So I have to go Walmart today to see if I can find it sold separately, so I don't have to buy the whole set again online.

I'm very hungry after I get done cleaning, vacuuming, and doing laundry.

I did a lot of shopping a few days ago, so our kitchen is very stocked up and a sandwich sounds delicious, since I have all the fixin's.

Amazing Boyfriend came home from work around 3ish and we cuddled on the couch, while he took a nap, and I watched TV.

Around 6, I got up to start dinner...something I had been craving for a while --burritos!

And OMG, they were so good!  I cooked up some Mexican rice to go along with it, and I made us some margaritas! Yum! 

We watched some football and ate our dinner, then got right back to cuddling up on the couch.

(I know, we're like pros at cuddling...but we never get to see each other with our work schedules, so when we do, we want to be as close together as possible.)

About 10 o'clock, we remembered to turn our clocks back, and headed to bed.  

(I didn't even have to change, because I, for once, got to stay in my pajamas ALL DAY!  Which was SO NICE!)

We turned on the TV in our room to watch before we fell asleep and found that Aladdin was on ABC Family.

After about 20 minutes, we were passed out...cuddling.

~Sunday~

With the time change and all the relaxing cuddling, I am feeling pretty good.

I got up at a descent time and got ready for church.

Got to church around 9ish and after, headed off to my parents for the day.

I've got to head to Walmart here pretty soon and hopefully Super Mom will be so kind as to do my hair for me, because my roots getting bad.

I love my life, but this weekend was one of the best I've had in a long time.

Especially with all the cuddling!

Super Mom says I would watch this like 5 times a day when I was a little girl.

My E.L.F. Makeup FINALLY Arrived!

If you remember a few weeks ago, my cute little apartment was robbed!  But weirdly enough, they only took my makeup bag!  Crazy right!?  All my wonderful makeup was gone.  I'd say about $100 worth, just gone.  I was so sad and confused...and you could say scared out of my mind that someone a complete stranger was in my house!!  Well, enough about that because as I'm writing this, I am alone in my apartment, and I'm just freaking myself out... door locked, check!

Ok, so since I had no more makeup, I went to Target and bought the cheapest, but pretty good stuff to hold me over.  A friend, a few years ago, bought me a bunch of e.l.f. makeup for my birthday.  I had never heard of it before, but she said it was great and a majority of the products are $1-$3 per each item.  Awesome!  I've been hooked ever since.  I grabbed the few essentials they had there at Target, and then went online for the rest.  And I found out when I registered on their website, they sent me an email for a code to receive 10 free items if I spent $20 or more.  Pretty sweet, huh?

Well, seeing that I've been really tight on money lately, and I remembered that my Super Mom and Hard-Working Dad never got me a birthday present...hmmm.  So I called Super Mom up and asked if she would be willing to spend about $30 on me, and she said yes!

Which brings me to today receiving my package in the mail!

(Sidenote - I ordered my e.l.f. products on July 29, paid $6.95 for standard 5-7 day shipping, and I finally got it today, August 12!  Two weeks!  That's the only downside to e.l.f. online ordering.)

1.  Mineral Infused Face Primer [buy] - I saw that the Lindsey @ The Bargain Blonde bought and reviewed this and since she loved it, I just had to get it too.  It goes on before you put on all your makeup so your makeup goes on evenly and gives you a satin finish look. 

2.  Pressed Powder [buy] - I wear foundation, but sometimes I need some extra coverage on certain areas.

3.  Dramatic Lash Kit [buy] - sometimes you just need some extra lashes!

4.  Concealer Stick [buy] - perfect for concealing blemishes while on the go.

5.  All Over Cover Stick [buy] - I swear by this stuff!  It is amazing at covering up little blemishes big pimples that you don't want seen.

6.  Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder [buy] - I've never used bronzer before, but hey, for only $1, why not?

7.  Hypershine Lipgloss [buy] - I got this as a free gift by referring 3 people to e.l.f.  Thank you very much e.l.f. :)

8.  Toe Separators [buy] - I always use kleenex and toilet paper to separate my toes, so I figured it was time to step it up and buy the real deal.

9.  Liquid Eyeliner [buy] - using my eyeliner stick doesn't really work when I'm trying to go for the winged-eye look

10.  Eye Widener [buy] - I saw that Imogen @ Imogen Foxy Locks wears this and her eye makeup is gorgeous.

11.  Smudge Eye Sponge [buy] - to get that smokey eye look I thought this would help.

12.  Blending Eye Brush [buy] - this will help blend all the colors on your eye or can be used as a concealer brush.

13.  Fan Brush [buy] - you know how when you put eye makeup on and a bunch of it falls below your eyes, well ta-dah!  This will help sweep it off your face without smudging it under your eyes!

14.  Bronzing Brush [buy] - I bought bronzer, ergo a bronzing brush.

15.  100 Eyeshadow Palette [buy] - 100 eyeshadow colors for only $10!?  I was sold!

My blog name "Living, Laughing, and Loving Life" comes from my new favorite phrase "Live Laugh Love" because recently, in the last year or so, I am finally living again, laughing all the time, and loving my family, amazing boyfriend, and life.  Before that, I was going no where with my life: changing my major every year (plus not doing so great in my classes), drinking and partying, getting dumped by my fiance after 3 years (who I later found out was a liar and a cheat), and not at all close with my family.  After I hit my all time low of getting kicked out of my house and dropping out of school, I decided I needed to change a few a lot of things.So, first thing, I found a great church, and started going again.I found a room for rent and moved away from the 'party life.'I regained my relationship with my family and now have a family day every Sunday with them.I figured out what I want to do with my life and started going back to school,to become a teacher :)And lastly, but absolutely not least, I met this wonderful guy who is now my amazing boyfriend.Now, with all that has happened, I'm really learning to live, laugh, and love my life.And I want to share all my stories with you.

We used to be really close when we were younger,

but since he's super smart and went to school in Washington D.C.

and overseas, I don't get to see him very often.

He's worked with the U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer and I believe will 

be the next president, or at least work high up at the White House.

I'm very proud of him.

I saw last week on Under Cover Blonde's Blog that she made margarita popsicles.  Can you say, "YUM!?"  I definitely had to try this out since it was going to be a hot weekend and we were celebrating the fourth of July.  Our plans were to go to the pool at amazing boyfriend's parent's apartment complex and BBQ.  So, I figured, what better than to have delicious margarita popsicles to cool us down.

Instead of using regular size cups, like she did, I used plastic shot glass cups, and cocktail spears, instead of popsicle sticks (or plastic spoons).

I made two different kinds, Don Viejo margarita and Skinny Girl margarita, because that's what I had in my fridge, and didn't have time to go get different flavors, like I wanted to.

I made about 12 of the Don Viejo kind and 6 of the Skinny Girl.  I just poured them into the little shot glasses and put them in the freezer for two hours.

By now they should have frozen just enough for you to be able to put the sticks in the middle of them without them falling over.  If they do fall over, let the cups sit in the freezer for another 15 minutes or so, then try again.

Then, let them stay in there another two hours or so and wah-lah!  Make sure they are fully frozen and take them out.  If you're planning on serving them right then, you can take the popsicles out of the cups and place them on a tray of ice, or if you're taking them somewhere, leave them in the cups and place them on a plate with ice, and put foil around it.

Now, if it's insanely hot like it was this weekend...I'd suggest securely putting them in an ice chest or cooler, because in the 10 minutes it took to get to his parents place, they melted and became margarita popsicles shots.  Sad, I know, but they were still good.  That just means I have to make them again!

As for the pool though, it felt great!  The hot heat from the sun, mixed with the cool, refreshing pool water, was wonderful!  However, I do need to get a new towel though, because it wasn't long enough for the lounge chair, and I kept burning my legs.  We hung out with his mom, Sweet-As-Pie Mom, and his dad, Surfer Dad, for about 6 hours.  We got a lot of sun and Surfer Dad cooked us up some awesome hamburgers!

Afterwards, we headed over to my parents house for some burritos and Hard-Working Dad's famous homemade rice.  After we scarfed down all that delicious food, we headed out front to set off some fireworks Hard-Working Dad bought.  It was so much fun!  We set a bunch off and got to play with sparklers, and laugh and hang with some of the neighbors.

We finally made it back home a little before 10, and man, were we tired!  It was a long, fun day, that we got to spend with each other and family :)

I kept reapplying sunscreen, we both burned...badly.
Him more than me, but lets just say, I've never wanted to
 go bra-less more than anything right now, and he just looks
like a (red) oompa loompa.  I felt so bad.
Aloe vera is now his best friend.

Brother From Another Mother

Smelly-Boy Brother is the funniest, craziest kid around.  You will never be bored with him.  He's awesome.

We adopted my brother when he was just 7 months old.  His real mom was on drugs while pregnant with him and that's why she didn't want him.  She then got pregnant with another little boy and said she's going to do "right" by this one.  Sad, huh?

Well, I guess, all in all, it was a good thing, because I got a little brother.  He was so tiny when I first got to meet him.  I remember it was snowing when we drove to where he was staying.  We took him to Sizzlers to have a family dinner with him before things were finalized and we got to bring him home.

When the day finally came to bring him home, we were all so excited.  We set up a crib in my room and got everything ready.  I thought it would be no big deal sharing a room with a baby, but boy, was I wrong.  Since his 'mother' was on speed while pregnant with him, every night he would have withdrawals from the drug and scream bloody murder every night.  So I usually ended up sleeping on the couch.

A few years later, we moved into a bigger house and we both got our own rooms.  He still wasn't talking, but wasn't crying every single night like before.  He eventually learned to walk and around 4 or 5, I believe, starting saying a few words.  Which was so much better than his "mah" he would say all the time!  Haha.  And, surprisingly, he couldn't even say my name, and he's been hearing it ever since he was born...his biological sister's name was Sarah, his foster sister's name was Sarah, and now his adopted sister's name was Sarah.  And nothing...I don't think he could say my name until he was 6 or 7.  Little booger.

He was later diagnosed with autism, tourettes syndrome, and bi-polar.  He was put in special needs classes and was considered a few years behind 'normal' kids at his age.  At least that's better than what the doctor said: "he may never talk or walk, ever."  Man, was he wrong!  He's more hyperactive than regular special needs children and needs a lot of attention...a lot and a lot of constant attention.

Ever since he was little, he was always into sports and building things.  Bob the Builder was his favorite show.  "Can we fix it? Yes we can!"  That was stuck in my head almost every day!  And like father, like son, he played (and still plays) almost every single sport: soccer, basketball, football, hockey, bowling, and baseball.  Hard-Working Dad helps coach almost all of the teams he's on.  All the teams, except for hockey, were for special needs kids, so he got to interact with other kids like him.  He's even got the privilege of traveling, by going to Florida to play football.

Even though little brothers can be annoying, he was great to play with.  I remember my sisters and I would always dress him up and play "house" with him.  He loved dressing up for Halloween too.  He was mostly always a super hero or a 'modern day super hero.'

He has a personality that everyone loves.  Anywhere we go, someone knows him...either the grocery store, a restaurant, or the mall.  Even in baseball, when they had buddies help out, they always wanted to work with my brother.

He's now in high school and so big!  He always can make me laugh, but knows just how to get on my nerves.  I love him so much!!
